In every family, there is one who always has the curiosity of sitting around the table and hearing about the glory stories of the past. You ponder about the family you had never known. To be able to put flesh on their bones and make them live again is ideal. To be able to tell the story of your family and feel that in someway..somehow, they know and approve. Genealogical research is not just accumulating dates and records but, instead, putting a new breath of air into the lives of all who have come before. We get to be these storytellers! We’ve been chosen, by our blood, by our ancestors. All of whom have left this world and ask us to keep them alive and remembered. So, we do. Seeking after them, we find ourselves. I never planned on being their keepers in this life, but here I am. I cannot express the overwhelming feeling of love for me, and the protection and peace when I have visited countless graves and monuments. Everything I strive and we strive for, goes above and beyond just research. It is a part of our past, present, and future. It’s who we will always be.
